This is: Susan Bruijnen – Translator

Our team consists of about 40 employees, so there's always something to tell. In the section 'This is' we interview a colleague about his or her work, but also about dreams, trends and what we have just wanted to know about it. This is Susan Bruijnen!

Hi, who are you and what are you doing at Buro N11?

I'm Susan Bruijnen, 29, and I live in Utrecht. At Buro N11 I started 8 years ago as a data specialist for Persclub and now I am mainly concerned with translation.

What do you like about it?

I like to puzzle with language. And I think it's a challenge to set the best possible result within the sometimes short deadlines.

What are you most proud of?

Every project where we work together optimally and efficiently and eventually something beautiful goes to the customer.

How do you keep up to date with what's going on in your field?

I learn a lot from colleagues and other peers, including on social media. Furthermore, I follow a webinar from time to time and look up things if I don't know anything.

What's the last book you've read?

I started on holiday in Elena Ferrante's genius girlfriend, but haven't picked it up yet…

Was ist dein Lieblingsessen?

Schwierige Frage … ich mag eigentlich ziemlich viel. But für Schokolade habe ich eine große Schwäche!

What three things are you happy about?

Music, dear friends/family/colleagues, warmth.

What are you listening to in the car?

Car?? On the train or at home I listen for example Editors, George Michael or K's Choice. In terms of radio also like NPO Radio 2 or Radio 10.

What's your biggest dream?

Swim with manatees!

What question would you ask which colleague?

Nielson, how about your nickname?
